This monthly Brown Bag Lunch session will explore the most recent data on the impact of HIV on the South, particularly the impact of the southern HIV epidemic on Black communities.
You will also learn about community-led efforts from our partners, Southern AIDS Coalition, to reduce the disproportionate impact of HIV on the south.

Presenters
Dafina Ward, JD, Executive Director, Southern AIDS Coalition, brings more than a dozen years of experience leading community-focused HIV programs in the southern United States and is committed to ending siloed approaches to transformation and regional healing. Based in coastal South Carolina, she has been with the Southern AIDS Coalition since 2018 and has served as Executive Director since December 2020.
Mardrequs Harris, Director of Community Investments, Southern AIDS Coalition, has nearly a decade of professional experience working in varying sects of public health with an emphasis on HIV/AIDS. He currently serves as Director of Community Investments for Southern AIDS Coalition, where he directs SAC’s grantmaking portfolio and its other programming as a Coordinating Center for the Gilead COMPASS Initiative®.

The Brown Bag Lunch Webinar Series improves HIV care and treatment through training, networking, and mobilization. The monthly web-trainings are done in collaboration with leading partners in the HIV field and teaches participants about biomedical information, HIV-related policy, and research as well as other pertinent health issues.
