The Black AIDS Institute launched the Prevention Clinic in Los Angeles, in partnership with St. John’s Well Child and Family Clinic, on National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day.
In addition to regular HIV services such as counseling, testing, and linkage services, the Prevention Clinic provides on-site PrEP linkage, HIV treatment, and other clinical services. All HIV tests, consultations, and laboratory work are conducted at free of charge.
In addition, medication may also be free based on the individual’s income. If prescribed medication, it can picked up the following day after 12:00 P.M. Clients can also attend a PrEP support lunch to discuss strategies to be successful with PrEP with a Black AIDS Institute’s support staff and sign up for a peer mentor.
Mondays: 10:00 A.M. – 3:00 P.M.
PrEP stands for “pre-exposure prophylaxis.” It is a daily pill that when taken consistently is a safe and proven way to prevent HIV. Learn more about PrEP here.
