L’Orangelis Thomas

L’Orangelis Thomas was born HIV positive, and has worked to heal and become a HIV and sexual and reproductive rights activist. She was born and still lives in San Juan, Puerto Rico and is Afro-Caribbean and half Dominican. Thomas is a feminist, blogger, wannabe Bruja, artisan and community educator, and part of many of the people living with HIV networks. She keeps changing, transforming and exploring new stages in her life, also protecting her sovereignty over her positive body and sexual pleasure. Thomas’s most recent project is called “Fluir Mas”, in which she paints with her menstrual blood to create images that represent her cycles. She was on the cover of POZ Magazine’s October/November 2017 Issue “Protecting Progress: Living With HIV In Puerto Rico.”
